Even being charitable, the US is a late stage empire in freefall and that doesn't begin to cover the predicament the US finds itself in and should the nation begin to crack I think it is pretty clear that it will go down without a fight.

To put it simply, the West is waging a hybrid war within Russia with the hopes of sewing discontent within the various groups with the desired result of a colour revolution and the dismantling of the Russian state. And the weaponization of the Wests most cherished values... including multiculturalism is not off the table in this grand game.

This will be the new talking point going forward.
And the narrative is that Russia is a nation of conquered and colonized people and must be urgently dismantled for the greater good of mankind.

Obvious to say, this calculated and articulated geostrategic goal of the West led by the waning global hegemon the US is an existential threat to Russia.
A goal that Russia cannot sit idly by and allow to happen.
