Joe Biden, the "Great Unifier" shows that politics is no longer about convincing people you have the better ideas.. its about trying to persuade people that those who oppose you are the enemy.

Many would say, that in reality what this America is today is a nation running on the fumes of it's past glory. It has had dominance for so long it believes itself to be impervious to the march of time and that its dominance will last indefinitely.

What is happening is the same that has happened to other empires. Once the populace believes itself to be impervious to all external threats, whether they be demographic, cultural, financial, military or other, domestic issues can then take precedence and navel gazing becomes the national sport.
