Political alliances are often explained through shared values, common interests, or a vision of the future. But what happens when none of those explanations seems entirely sufficient? Across contemporary Western politics, movements with very different beliefs have increasingly found themselves rallying around the same international cause.
Their differences are not trivial, and the question of what connects them deserves more than a superficial answer.
In my latest video, I explore this strange convergence and ask what it reveals about the direction of modern political life.

DarkBrandon Jumps the "GREAT UNITER" Shark
Joe Biden, the "Great Unifier" shows that politics is no longer about convincing people you have the better ideas.. its about trying to persuade people that those who oppose you are the enemy.
Many would say, that in reality what this America is today is a nation running on the fumes of it's past glory. It has had dominance for so long it believes itself to be impervious to the march of time and that its dominance will last indefinitely.
What is happening is the same that has happened to other empires. Once the populace believes itself to be impervious to all external threats, whether they be demographic, cultural, financial, military or other, domestic issues can then take precedence and navel gazing becomes the national sport.
Find out more as I look into not on the recent speech in Philadelphia but why people in the US are able to become to polarized and what this might carry forward to the future.

A few seconds of footage can become a political Rorschach test. Some viewers see regret; others see hypocrisy, confusion or a convenient symbol for everything they already believe. But how much can we really know about a stranger from a brief expression? The more interesting question is why millions of people are so eager to assign that expression a meaning. The video looks beyond the immediate spectacle to examine the assumptions that make this kind of meme so powerful.
