Picture the whole West like one big leaking cruise ship. Australians are up on the top deck mocking the Americans down in steerage for drowning in medical debt. Europeans are leaning over the railing laughing at our “feral individualism.” Meanwhile we’re yelling back about their crumbling welfare states and endless queues. Everyone’s got their favorite insult, everyone’s sure their section of the boat is still dry. Except the water’s rising everywhere, same speed. It stopped being funny a while ago.

New Video Out Soon: Black Samurai? Ubisoft Meet Netflix
Ubisoft in their newest iteration of Assassins Creed has made the greatest samurai in Feudal Japan a Sub-Saharan African. Or in other words, Ubisoft meet Netflix.
While several months ago, I covered the fact that there were African Americans that were infuriated that the smash TV show Shogun lacked diversity - a la - sub-Saharan Africans in 16th Century Japan, Ubisoft is here to save the day and insert modern American social fetishes into Japanese history.
But why oh why am I not surprised? It's not like this is the first time that we have seen wholesale cultural appropriation by such rabidly ideological actors in the media before, right? Right?
Either way, thanks ever so much for sticking with me. My output has been low this month as I said because of my latest brush with COVID, but I am on the mend and should be back to full steam this month.
