Europeans are leaning over the railing laughing at our “feral individualism.” Meanwhile we’re yelling back about their crumbling welfare states and endless queues. Everyone’s got their favorite insult, everyone’s sure their section of the boat is still dry. Except the water’s rising everywhere, same speed. It stopped being funny a while ago.
