MAGA or MIGA? The Fight Laura Loomer Can't Escape
August 12, 2026

Laura Loomer's political career is one of the stranger stories to emerge from the modern American right. Few people would have predicted that an activist best known for confrontational stunts and social-media controversy would eventually find herself with access to the highest levels of Republican politics.

Her ability to generate controversy has repeatedly put her in the headlines, creating a cycle in which outrage produces visibility, visibility produces influence, and influence creates opportunities for even more controversy. But at some point, attention stopped being the entire story. It started becoming political capital. Yet that is precisely what makes her story worth examining.

You Know These People. You Might Be One.

It's easy to recognise conformity in other people. The political activist repeating a familiar slogan. The colleague who becomes furious when challenged. Green Day Saw This Coming

When Mike Judge released *Idiocracy* in 2006, its premise was absurd enough to be funny: an average man wakes up in a future where intellectual standards have collapsed so dramatically that he becomes the smartest person around. Two decades later, the uncomfortable question is no longer whether such a future is imaginable. It's whether we've mistaken the warning signs for entertainment. In the latest Felix Rex video, I examine the forces that may be pushing modern America in precisely the wrong direction—and why the answer is more disturbing than a comedy about stupid people.

The Impossible Alliance

Political alliances are often explained through shared values, common interests, or a vision of the future. But what happens when none of those explanations seems entirely sufficient? Across contemporary Western politics, movements with very different beliefs have increasingly found themselves rallying around the same international cause.
Their differences are not trivial, and the question of what connects them deserves more than a superficial answer.
In my latest video, I explore this strange convergence and ask what it reveals about the direction of modern political life.
Out soon, and as always, thanks so much for sticking with me. It is very much appreciated and I hope your week goes well.
