Islamic Jesus

Jesus Christ is perhaps the most influential person to have ever lived. The entire Western society in one fashion or the other is wrapped up in not only his ministry but his legacy, the Church.
While it is easy to forget, that Jesus is also revered in the pages of the Quran as a "prophet" rather than the Son of God, revered he is.
This is my second video in the countdown to Christmas and in it we will delve into the not only Jesus as he is understood in the New Testament, but also look at him from the Muslim perspective and ask the question:
Who was Islamic Jesus?

As always, I want to say thank you very much for your support it is very much appreciated and I hope you enjoy these rather different videos as we lead up to Christmas.

The "Lucky Bastard" Era Is Over

South Park could once end a teacher-student episode with the word “Nice.” The laugh only works if the audience already knows the old assumption. Most people under 25 have never lived inside that assumption.
We live in the most sexualized environment in history and simultaneously treat a teenage boy’s desire as something that primarily needs protection rather than direction.
Biology did not receive a software update in 2014. Culture did.
The “hot teacher” did not vanish. She became one of the largest categories in pornography while disappearing from acceptable comedy.
Out later today, and as always, thanks so much for sticking with me. It is very much appreciated and I hope your week goes well.

Is GTA 6 Satire or a Demographic Sermon?

For years, Grand Theft Auto built its reputation by making fun of almost everyone. Politicians, corporations, celebrities, criminals, police officers and ordinary Americans could all become targets. But GTA VI is arriving at a time when audiences are increasingly sensitive to questions of representation and ideology. That creates a fascinating question: can Rockstar still make the same kind of satire it made twenty years ago?

Moreover,  Grand Theft Auto VI hasn't even arrived, yet it has already become the center of a surprisingly intense cultural argument. Before players have explored Leonida, completed missions or even met many of its characters, people are debating what the game supposedly represents. Is Rockstar simply continuing its tradition of social satire, or has GTA entered an entirely different cultural era?
Out now, and as always, thanks so much for sticking with me. It is very much appreciated and I hope your weekend goes well.

How Your Favorite Internet Celebrities Are Manufactured

Political YouTube can sometimes feel like an endless battlefield. One personality attacks the left, another attacks the right, audiences mobilize around their favorite creators, and every disagreement becomes another piece of content. But beneath that apparent chaos is a rapidly professionalizing industry.

Talent agencies, advertisers, sponsors, analytics, recommendation systems, and platform incentives all play a role in determining which personalities become enormous.
Hasan Piker and Asmongold might seem like two people who could hardly be further apart. Their politics, audiences, personalities, and public personas appear radically different. But that contrast is exactly what makes the business infrastructure behind them so interesting.

Once you stop looking at the personalities themselves and start looking at the industry surrounding modern internet celebrities, a much larger story begins to emerge.
Out now, and as always, thanks so much for sticking with me. It is very much appreciated and I hope your weekend goes well.
